WHEN ARE TRYOUTS?
Each year’s tryout dates occur just after the completion of the previous competitive season.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE TRYOUTS?
Register online, making sure to include accurate player information. There is no fee associated with trying out for the 2024-2025 competitive season.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR/BRING TO TRYOUTS?
Players should wear athletic clothing, shin guards (to be worn underneath socks), soccer socks, and soccer cleats. Players should bring a ball (U9-U12 = size 4 and U12-U19 = size 5) and at least 32oz. of water.

WHAT IF MY PLAYER CANNOT MAKE TRYOUT SESSIONS?
Players that are unable to attend tryouts must still complete the Tryout Registration, indicating that they wish to petition for a roster spot and contact OFC’s Director of Coaching (doc@oxfordfc.org) to alert us that your player is unable to attend but wishes to play OFC competitive soccer.

Team placement Via Petition
For current OFC players: The petition does not guarantee a position on a specific team rather it alerts the Director of Coaching that even though your child was not at tryouts they are still interested in playing for OFC. Players will be placed on a team based on their ability level. No player is guaranteed a roster spot on a team.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS OTHER ACTIVITIES?
We recognize that some players cannot commit fully to the season because of other activities and we are happy to work through these conflicts to ensure they are still able to participate in our program. However as with many other sports, soccer has become a year-round sport. The expectation is to communicate very early with the coach and manager about games or practices you will miss and to make as many as you can. In the event of short rosters, teams can seek play-ups to ensure an adequate number of players. OFC reserves the right to restructure teams based on specific team needs if rosters need balancing.

WHAT IS THE COMPETITIVE SEASON?
In addition to tryouts that take place in mid May and/or late May, the Fall competitive soccer season takes place from the beginning of August through the first or second week of December and the Spring competitive soccer season takes place from the second or third week in January through the beginning of May. Once your player is placed on a team, the commitment is for the full season (Fall and Spring).

WHAT EVENTS DO OFC TEAMS PLAY IN?
Our U9-U14 teams participate in the Tupelo Development League (TDL) as well as a multitude of tournaments across the Southeast Region. During the 2023-24 season our teams participated in tournaments in: Tupelo, Memphis, Birmingham, Jackson, Clinton, Huntsville, Nashville, and Gulf Shores. U8-U10 is limited travel, U11-U14 is median travel, and U15-U18 is extended travel.

HOW DOES OFC HANDLE TEAM PLACEMENT NOTIFICATION?
Notification of placement on 2024-2025 teams will be emailed to the address(es) associated with each player account no later than one week after the final tryout date.  An email including team plans and approximate fees will also go out to each team once those details are finalized.

HOW DO I ACCEPT MY TEAM PLACEMENT AND WHAT IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER?
The full 2024-2025 Season Registration will open after tryouts have been completed and acceptance emails have been sent. Parents have 48 hours to respond and register to reserve a team roster slot for your child.

IMPORTANT OFC requires an initial payment that represents a commitment to the club and to the team for the full year. This payment binds the player to OFC for the 2024-2025 season.  This payment is non‐refundable.

DOES OFC OFFER A PAYMENT PLAN?
OFC provides payment plans through our web platform.

DOES OFC OFFER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?
Financial Assistance is available. Application can be found on the homepage of our website.

WHAT COSTS ARE INVOLVED IN COMPETITIVE PLAY?
OFC breaks fees into two categories:

– Club Fees
– Team Fees

Club Fees include the following: Player Registration, Training Costs, Field Usage Fees, OFC Administration Costs, Training Equipment, Goalkeeper Training Costs, Etc.

Team Fees (split evenly between each player rostered) include the following: Tournament Entry Fees, League Entry Fees, TDL Referee Fees, Additional Training Space/Rental Fees, Coaches Travel Reimbursement, Etc.

Oxford FC Uniform Package: Includes two uniform jerseys, two uniform shorts, two uniform socks, training jersey, training shorts, training socks. Approximate cost for 2024-25 uniform package is $200. The new two-year uniform purchase cycle will begin during the 2025-2026 season.

Club Fees: The fees for each age group are listed below and are for the 10-month competitive season (Aug 1 thru May 31). If an age group’s season is shortened, the club fee would be prorated accordingly.

U9/U10 Boys and Girls = $900
U11 thru U13 Boys and Girls = $1000
U14 thru U17 Boys and Girls = $800

Oxford FC Refund Policy: Oxford Football Club follows a strict no-refund policy. No refunds will be awarded after the conclusion of the second week of the first seasonal training date.

The club may consider partial refund requests under the following: special circumstances in which the OFC Board of Directors (board@oxfordfc.org) find a refund to be necessary or appropriate. Please note that in order for refund requests to be considered, such requests must first be submitted to the club’s Executive Director or a member of the Board. The request will then be reviewed and considered at the next scheduled Board meeting. All refunds, if granted, will be returned by the manner in which the initial club fee was paid.
